Professor Fouad H. Beseiso is a former Central Bank Governor and Minister. He currently performs as a Senior Economic Regional Consultant and Academician.

With an accumulated monetary, financial and economic proficiency supported by 40 years of gained experience in the fields of Jordanian, Omani, Palestinian, Regional and International Banking, Finance and Economic Development. In 1994 Professor Beseiso was appointed as the first Governor and Founder of Palestinian Monterey Authority (PMA) and fulfilled this mission for seven years (1995- 2002).

Dr. Ghazi completed Alimiat & Fadhilat in Jamiatul Falah. He obtained degree in Sharia with distinction from Islamic University, Madina and Masters in Arabic literature, and PhD in Quran from Lucknow University. He is a writer as well as translator in Arabic, Urdu and English. To his credit are more then 50 articles and research papers published in national and international academic magazines. He was an editor of a national magazine in Delhi, India and has 2 years teaching experience of Sharia subjects in Islamic Academy Delhi. He pursues his core interests in research on Sharia, particularly Islamic Finance & participates in seminars, debates and discussions on Sharia issues.

Dr M. Kabir Hassan is a financial economist with consulting, research and teaching experiences in development finance, money and capital markets, Islamic finance, corporate finance, investments, monetary economics, macroeconomics and international trade and finance.

He provided consulting services to the World Bank (WB), International Monetary Fund (IMF), Islamic Development Bank (IDB), African Development Bank (AfDB), USAID, Government of Bangladesh, Organization of Islamic Conferences (OIC), Federal Reserve Bank, USA, and many corporations, private organizations and universities around the world.

Dr Hassan received his BA in Economics and Mathematics from Gustavus Adolphus College, Minnesota, USA, and M.A. in Economics and Ph.D. in Finance from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, USA respectively. He is now a tenured Professor of Finance in the Department of Economics and Finance at the University of New Orleans, Louisiana, USA. He has 130 papers published in refereed academic journals to his credit. Dr Hassan supervised 27 doctoral theses, and many of his students are now well placed in the academia, government and private sectors.

He has more than a decade of experience representing an array of financial institutions, sponsors, joint ventures, and family offices in a variety of cutting-edge finance and investment products and transactions (both conventional and Islamic).

Moghul has been widely published and has spoken at numerous forums regarding Islamic law and Islamic finance. He is a lecturer in law at the University of Connecticut School of Law in the United States where he teaches Islamic finance and investment. He also serves on the Board of Trustees of the Hartford Seminary.

As the CEO of Punjab Board of Investment, he was involved in ensuring the flow of FDIs.

Saadat was responsible for spearheading the initiative to set up the first ever integrated Wealth Management platform catering to the needs of High Net Worth Individuals (HNWI) for Shari’a-compliant investment solutions. In addition, he was part of the team that developed new Islamic markets, established greenfield banking operations in Pakistan & Sudan, contributed towards the successful launch of an Islamic Investment bank in DIFC and gained significant experience of Sharia compliant business development linked to investment funds & structured products.

WQ held executive management positions at Citibank, HSBC, UBS, IIBU, IBB and QCC. WQ is Founder, CEO & Chairman designate of an Islamic Bank being established (not yet licensed) in Europe. WQ is a founding member of the Bank of England working party on Islamic mortgages. WQ is a founding Member UK technical group at Chartered Institute for Securities & Investments for Islamic Finance Qualification (IFQ) London.

WQ co-authored a book on Islamic Retail Banking and Finance: Global Challenges and Opportunities published by Euro-money UK.

Dr. Rashwan is a Financial Consultant for different consultations firms. He prepares the financial analysis and Investment appraisal for different projects. This interdisciplinary specialization is underpinned by an awarded PhD degree integrating the fields of Finance and Investment.

Kamran joined Dar Al Sharia in April 2008. Previously he worked with Emirates Islamic Bank's Shari'a Structuring and Coordination Department as an in-house counsel from August 2006 to April 2008. He studied Islamic Sharia and Law at International Islamic University Islamabad, Pakistan. He has been actively involved in transactions such as Sukuk, Syndications and project finance apart from other corporate and retail Sharia compliant finance products. He is involved in structuring of products, drafting of agreements, submission of the same to the Sharia Board and getting them approved by the Board. He has also attended quite a few training workshops and conferences in relation to Islamic Finance. He worked with PTCL and Ufone, major telecom companies in Pakistan, as in-house lawyer.

Professor David Weir has had an extraordinarily successful academic career which has included leading four university Business Schools as Director of the Bradford Management School, Head of the Glasgow University Business School, Dean and Director of the Newcastle Business School and Dean of the Scottish Business School. He was also Chair of the Association of Business Schools (UK) and is a Visiting Professor for numerous universities.

Professor Weir is a highly regarded academic, with a distinguished international research and publication record. He is an author of several books including the best selling Modern Britain series and has wide ranging research interests in areas spanning from strategic management and enterprise development, to risk and crisis management, and management in the Arab Middle East.

Professor Weir has researched and published extensively on Management in the Arab world and has undertaken consultancy with many leading companies and organizations in the MENA region. He is a regular presenter at major international and regional economic conferences.
